Taking Matters into My Own Hands: LIfe and Death

Okay, so I haven't gotten my learner's permit yet, so technically I can't drive. I've been learning to turn, break, and other basic stuff on the weekends. So today we had a tornado warning right after the dismissal bell rung, and they (the school officials) held us in for another thirty minutes. I was kind of mad. (if you get what I mean. It's afterschool hours and you're held inside a humid school for a whole half hour.) My mother picks us up, and we have to pick up my cousin who's in primary school. We get there and have this huge argument on who should go out in the pouring rain and retrieve the poor kid. My mother decides she will go. She doesn't come back for a while, and cars are beginning to move. My cousins and I are panicking. So here is the dialogue in the most anxious thirty minutes of my life.

Cousin 1 (to me): Climb over to the driver side and drive
Me: I can't, I'm just a learner! Can't drive without a certified license adult in, HUH LO!

We wait a while, and cars start to move. NOOOOO! I have no choice, but to walk out and go to the driver seat and drive. I do and the first thing I do is grip the wheel like my life depended on it. I floor on the gas pedal and pull bac rapidly.

Cousin 2: THAT WAS SCARY!

I start to become afraid. Afraid that i would hit a teacher or a little kid or a car. I turn a few turns and finally I see my mom. She looked angry. She was looking for the car and she couldn't see us, so i honked at her. She went and got little cousin and came back.

I was practically hyperventilating. My hands were trembling and my complexion was pale. I was SICK!

Conclusion? Well, we all know I will never be a good driver...... besides I don't want to drive ever again. Maybe I'll just hire my own chauffeur and make him drive me everywhere. =)
